For those students who take the driver education classroom portion of class outside SFHS:
Because of the amount of students that complete or have completed the classroom portion of Driver Education through SFHS, and for organizational and clerical reasons, if you take the driver education classroom portion outside of SFHS, we encourage you to take the road portion of driver education privately.
If you choose to complete Range and Road through SFHS, unfortunately, I do NOT receive anything from the state and verifying you have passed the course. Before you can have the opportunity to sign up for a range session, FOLLOW the directions below:
#1: Send proof you passed the classroom portion of driver education to Coach Gub (casey.nelson@nebo.edu) and the Finance Office. Without this information you cannot start the signup process for Range and Road.
#2: Pay $80 for Range and Road at the Finance Office and have a copy of your Learner Permit made. After you pay your $80, scan the QR code provided by the Finance Office, FILL OUT THE GOOGLE FORM.
#3: WAIT to see your name on the Range Waitlist (this is NOT updated daily).
#4: When you see your name on the Range Waitlist, follow the directions on the Range and Road tab on the driver ed website to sign up for a range session. RANGE SESSIONS AND OR LINKS TO SIGN UP FOR RANGE ARE NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE.
The Range Waitlist has now been updated through May's 2023 class. Click on the "Range and Road" tab to see it. If your name is on the waitlist, and if a link is available, you may sign-up (if slots are available), for a future range session.

TENTATIVE Classroom Dates for the 2022-2023 School Year:
- July 2023, hybrid:
- Dates: 7/11-7/27 and the make-up day is on 7/28. On 7/11, all students in the class need to show up to the in-person, in-class introduction.

- Online days: All days after the first day of class. First day of class meet in room B4

- Each day this will be about 2-3 hours worth of work. You will need internet access to be in this class. If you are limited with internet access you can be in the next in-person class or hybrid class. Let your teacher know if you cannot complete this class because of this. The state requires on-line and hybrid classes to be 30 hours instead of the regular in-class, 27-hour time commitment. Expect more work.
- The Canvas Course for this class will be set up in such a way that each day and each module is a pre-requisite to the next day and next module. In other words, you cannot progress through the class if you miss any days, or any of the work, as it will all build off the previous day and previous assignments.
- If you miss 2 days' worth of work at any time, you will be dropped from the class and must pay your $100 again to the finance office to be added to another class. Expect to block out time each day for the lesson, and all assignments/quizzes for that day. There will be work EVERY. SINGLE. DAY for the weeks we are in class.
- Please understand the commitment needed for this class so that we can satisfy the requirements set forth by the state. It is not something that can be taken lightly or worked around.
- Please look for DAILY announcements posted on CANVAS, that will clearly direct what you should accomplish each day, and will include QUIZ CODES. If you are ever lost, it is YOUR JOB to communicate.
- If you signup for a class and are unable to attend the class you signed up for, you will be put into a future class session. Please contact your classroom instructor prior to the drop date. If you contact your instructor after the drop date you will have to repay $100 for driver ed.
