If you'd like to be in a future class, please READ the following tabs on the website so you are familiar with the driver education process:
IF A MONTH TO TAKE CLASS IS NOT ON THE GOOGLE FORM WHEN YOU SIGN UP, THAT MONTH IS NOT AVAILABLE TO ATTEND CLASS. DO NOT REACH OUT TO THE CLASSROOM TEACHER AND ASK TO BE IN THAT CLASS. THE CLASS IS EITHER FULL OR THE SIGN UP PERIOD HAS PASSED.
If you took a class from one of the following PRIVATE companies below, you cannot take range/road through SFHS. You will need to finish road privately:
If you attended one of the private companies above, YOU CANNOT COMPLETE RANGE/ROAD THROUGH SFHS. Utah Driver Education Law & Policy states, "Student course work from a private driving school shall not transfer to a public driver education program."
This means:
If you take the classroom portion of driver education through a PRIVATE company, you CANNOT take range/road through SFHS. There are different state requirements for public education and private driver education classes.
If you attended the classroom portion of driver education through a private company and want to take range/road through SFHS, you will have to TAKE the classroom portion of driver education again, through SFHS before you can start range/road. You will also have to pay the $100 driver ed fee and follow the sign up process we have at SFHS.
For those students who took a state (USBOE) approved online (non private) driver education class and attend SFHS and want to complete Range/Road through SFHS:
Students who attended a state (USBOE) approved online (non private) classroom driver education class from the list below, CAN still complete range/road through SFHS.
If you have taken an approved online classroom course outside of SFHS and choose to complete Range and Road through SFHS, unfortunately, I do NOT receive anything from the state verifying you have passed the course. Before you can have the opportunity to sign up for a range session, FOLLOW the directions below:
Step #1: Pay $80 for Range and Road at the Finance Office and have a copy of your Learner Permit made. After you pay your $80, scan the QR code provided by the Finance Office, FILL OUT THE GOOGLE FORM and UPLOAD a copy of your DEMS classroom completion certificate. The certificate will show the company name, instructor, and date of classroom completion. If you don't have a copy of the certificate you will need to reach out to the company/instructor that taught your class. It might be easiest to upload the PDF to your Google Drive and then submit the file. You cannot proceed with the Google Form or be added to the Range Waitlist without submitting the certificate.
Step #2: WAIT to see your name on the Range Waitlist (this is NOT updated daily).
Step #3: When you see your name on the Range Waitlist, follow the directions on the Range and Road tab on the driver ed website to sign up for a range session. RANGE SESSIONS AND OR LINKS TO SIGN UP FOR RANGE ARE NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE.
